Players will be able to make Kurt Cobain rap along to Public Enemy. You can kind of see why Dave Grohl and Kris Novaselic are a little irked, can’t you?

Former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Kris Novaselic have spoken out against the latest Guitar Hero game (Guitar Hero 5) as players are able to unlock Kurt Cobain and make him sing and play along to any of the tracks on the game. This means you can have him rapping along to Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise’, belting out Duran Duran’s ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ or crooning Coldplay’s ‘In My Place’.

You couldn’t imagine him doing any of those things if he were still with us, could you? Didn’t think so.

As such Grohl and Novaselic have posted the following complaint: “While we were aware of Kurt’s image being used with two Nirvana songs, we didn’t know players have the ability to unlock the character,” said Novoselic and Grohl.

“This feature allows the character to be used with any kind of song the player wants. We urge Activision to do the right thing in ‘re-locking’ Kurt’s character so that this won’t continue in the future.”
